·In January, the double-digit growth of the car market in the top ten secondary car changes

Recently, the national passenger car sales data for January was released. According to the latest data from the Federation, in January 2016, the domestic sales volume of narrow-seat passenger cars was 2,178,077, an increase of 11.6% compared with the 1,951,559 vehicles in January 2015. In the three major market segments, the car fell 9.7%, and the MPV and SUV achieved an increase of 13.8% and 64.0% respectively. Passenger car sales top 10 companies list, SAIC Volkswagen, FAW-Volkswagen and SAIC GM are still in the top three, the top ten car companies and last January remained unchanged, but the seat rankings are quite different. Six of the top ten car companies grew year-on-year, and four fell year-on-year.

The top ten rankings of car companies have changed

In January, the top ten domestic sales of narrow-seat passenger cars remained unchanged from last year, but there was a big change in the ranking of seats. SAIC Volkswagen, FAW-Volkswagen and SAIC-GM are still the Big Three, and SAIC-GM-Wuling is the fastest growing. However, compared with the same period of last year, there were also four year-on-year declines, namely FAW-Volkswagen, Changan Automobile (Weibo), Beijing Hyundai and Shenlong Automobile. Among them, Beijing Hyundai saw the largest decline year-on-year, reaching nearly 30%.

The top ten car companies did not change in January 2015. The top three and tenth car companies were in line with last year, while the other six seats were adjusted. SAIC Volkswagen, FAW-Volkswagen and SAIC-GM ranked the top three, and SAIC-GM-Wuling jumped to fourth with more than 150,000 vehicles (small passenger vehicle sales, excluding Wuling Zhiguang and other micro-customers), a year-on-year increase of 45.5 % became the highest growth rate among the top ten.

Cui Dongshu, secretary-general of the Association, pointed out that from the same period of last year, in January 2015, the relatively low base brought by the sales lockout period after Shenzhen’s purchase restriction, combined with the advantage of the peak of the car purchase wave, the car market in the first three weeks of this year The growth is relatively strong; there are 20 working days in January 2016, one day less than in January 2015, and the two days of the end of the month are rest days, coupled with the end of the booming period of the Spring Festival, affecting the end of the month sales. From the month of December, despite the impact of the subsidy of 3,000 yuan for energy-saving and environmentally-friendly vehicles and the high base of December 2015 and the subsidy policy of new energy vehicles, due to the pre-holiday consumption stimulus, coupled with the traditional advantage of the Spring Festival and the car Enterprises may shift sales and manufacture "opening the door", and the overall retail sales in January this year were basically the same as last December.

Japanese brands continue high growth

In January, Nissan, Toyota, Honda and Mazda's four major automakers all increased their sales in China, with Guangqi Honda and Dongfeng Honda increasing by more than 20%. Some analysts believe that the policy of reducing the purchase tax on small-displacement vehicles implemented in October last year has significantly promoted the growth of Japanese cars in China. In January, Nissan's retail sales in the Chinese market was 127,300 units, an increase of 9.4% year-on-year. In January last year, it sold 116,376 units. The main reason for the increase is due to the Chinese government's stimulus policy to reduce the purchase tax on small-displacement vehicles by half, and on the other hand, Nissan's intensive release of new vehicles has created a strong push.

Toyota sold 125,000 units in the Chinese market in January, compared with 94,700 units in January 2015, a sharp rise of 32.1% year-on-year. Among the two joint ventures, GAC Toyota achieved a sales volume of 55,431 vehicles in January, a record high in the history of the month, an increase of 44.1% over the same period last year. The sales of FAW Toyota also increased by more than 20% year-on-year.

Honda’s sales of domestically produced vehicle terminals in the Chinese market in January were 107,357 units, an increase of 20.7% compared with the 88,960 units in January 2015. Dongfeng Honda achieved an increase of 57.6% in January, and the sales volume increased from 30,197 to 47,602. Mazda’s terminal retail sales in China in January was 25,954 units, which is the fourth consecutive month of Mazda’s growth in the Chinese market.

The luxury car has entered the battle

Among the various market segments, the competition of luxury cars is undoubtedly the most exciting and attracting attention. In 2016, the first shot, all brands of luxury cars are full of enthusiasm, Audi sales in China in January resumed a positive growth of 54402 vehicles, an increase of 6.2 %, leading the second BMW 11,000. According to BMW's official sales data for January 2016, the sales volume of BMW (including MINI) in China reached 43,341 in January, which was compared with the previous year's 40081. The vehicle increased by 8.4% year-on-year, achieving the highest increase in the past four months. Mercedes-Benz sold more than 42,000 units in China in January (excluding smart, excluding Hong Kong sales), an increase of 55% compared to the same period last year, and achieved growth for 35 consecutive months. Following the 2015 Mercedes-Benz victory in the “BBA China Market Growth”, Mercedes-Benz and the number one Audi in 2016 once again narrowed the sales gap.

Lexus sold 8,773 vehicles in China in January, up 45.4% year-on-year. On this basis, Lexus established three goals for 2016: “Golden Rule” Lexus business rules, brand power and 100,000 units. In January, Volvo sold a total of 7,228 units in China, an increase of 22.9% compared with the same period last year. According to Volvo's product plan, this year Volvo will launch four new models, such as S90 and V90, to the market. By then, Volvo will form a complete lineup of the flagship 90 family. Thanks to the strength of the two domestic models Q50L and QX50, Infiniti market performance continued to rise. It is reported that Infiniti sold 3,583 vehicles in China in January 2016, a year-on-year increase of 36%.

It can be seen that whether it is the top three hegemony in the first camp or the melee in the second camp, the contest between the brands is quite fierce. The situation of your chasing seems to indicate that this year's luxury car market will be in full swing.

Japanese joint-venture brand car companies achieved good results in January. Among them, GAC Toyota recorded its highest monthly sales record in January, while Mazda achieved year-on-year growth in the Chinese market for 12 consecutive months.
